Todd Howard sent a touching service note to employees Microsoft, Xbox and Bethesda

Starfield launch in early access is no longer around the corner, and a stormy discussion of the game is flared up on the network. Starfield is one of the most important Xbox exclusives of Microsoft in recent years created by the legendary studio standing behind The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3 and 4 and other outstanding games. Starfield, created under the leadership of Todd Howard from Bethesda, promises to become the largest and most ambitious game of the studio, the action of which is unfolding in our own Galaxy Milky Way.

Hundreds of star systems and planets that can be explored, as well as dozens and tens of hours of content created by hand, Starfield promises to become another great success for the team. Bethesda single -user games have a long tail thanks to the enthusiastic Modder community and constant content traditions. Starfield is the first new IP from Bethesda over the past 30 years, with a completely new universe and history written by world masters Bethesda.

In recent years, the team has undergone many changes. In 2021, Bethesda was purchased by Microsoft, and Starfield was the first game released in the framework of a single partnership Bethesda-Xbox. In anticipation of Starfield output to early access on September 1, 2023. We received from the director of the game Todd Howard (also confirmed by Microsoft) here is such a touching official note, which dispersed by Xbox, Microsoft and Bethesda.

From Todd Howard, Gamdaretor Starfield:

I knocked on the door of Robert Oltman. "There are several minutes?"

It was the beginning of 2013, we developed Fallout 4, and Skyrim was still enjoying a huge success. I came to tell him about our next game. This will not be a continuation of our current games (it looked worried), but a grandiose cosmic role -playing game and our first new IP for more than 25 years (now it looked interested). It will be devoted to creativity and the search for our place in the universe. You will explore the galaxy as only video games can do. And it will be called Starfield. (Smiles.)

Robert will be the first to believe in us, regardless of the situation. Our path to creating Starfield was long and winding, along the way we made other games (Fallout 4, Skyrim Se, Fallout Shelter, Skyrim Vr, Fallout 76, again Skyrim. ). During the development period from 2020 to 2023, huge changes have occurred in our lives. Global pandemic, Robert’s departure from life and joining Xbox.

It is incredible that now we are in the moment when Starfield finally comes out this week. It exists only because everyone else also believed in it. For decades, we have been supported by all Zenimax employees, and all of them did their best work. Special thanks to our publishing teams who sought to create not just another release, but something that will capture the minds and inspire gamers around the world. As well as our partners from the quality control department, on whose shoulders there was a difficult task of testing the game in which anything can happen (and will) happen. Thanks to Jamie Leder and our administrators and employees of the personnel department who supported everyone in the most difficult years that each of us faced.

And, of course, Phil Spencer. His support for each game and each player was unshakable and furious. Action to Xbox brought us closer to many with whom we worked for more than 20 years. I cannot imagine the best place to create games where the variety of studios, creators and games would flourish. This support came from the entire Xbox leadership and all divisions of the publishing house and developers. Special thanks to the wizards from ATG, whose spells and spells helped to make this game the most successful.

But the most important thing is the team with which I work in Bethesda Game Studios. This is incredible happiness – every day to be surrounded by so many talented and inspiring people. Such moments make you think. Some of us have been working together for several decades, some have joined us recently, but we are united by the same passion. I cannot but be proud of their constant devotion to the work of creating something really special.

And finally, many thanks to all members of the Xbox and Bethesda family. Your enthusiasm and support are great for us. The creation of this game was one of the most difficult and exciting events in our career – we will never forget this journey. And now, when we come to the end of this chapter, we are passing it to you. Each of you will receive the game in early access and will be able to start playing this Friday, September 1, but since this is a single global time, you can actually play on Thursday evening (thanks to New Zealand!).

We hope that you will have a chance to play, and that your journey will be as useful as our.

Starfield is released on September 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and Premium Edition owners will be able to start playing on September 1. By the way, the game can be won on our website, and you can find out about how to get more bonuses here.
