Classic RPG with Yuan Sword: Mists Beond The Mountains pixel graphics was released for PC in Steam

The publisher of the Indie-IGR of Shanghai and Tokyo Gamera Games and the developer of the Indie-Igra from New Taibay (Taiwan) Softstar Entertainment today announced that their classic pixel role-playing game Yuan Sword: MISTS Beond The Mountains became available for PC in Steam. The game will also be released at Nintendo Switch at the end of this year.

The long-standing historical fantasy franchise Xuan-Yuan Sword is one of the most successful games in the Chinese-language territories. Its third part of Mists Beond the Mountains was originally released in 1999; This updated edition transfers the original to new platforms, preserving the original art, a rich story based on Chinese fantasy and real historical events, as well as a deep game process, thanks to which Mists Beond the Mountains achieved success with critics and commercial success.

MISTS Beond the Mountains immerses players in an epic history that covers two continents – from Venice to the Chinese Empire of Tan and the Abbasid Caliphate. The main character is Septem, the Frankish Knight, Lieutenant Pipin the Younger, who goes on a long journey to find the invincible art of war.

In his travels, he will be involved in complex disputes about power between the main world powers, but he will also have to face the fraud of Satan himself, always looking for a way to enslave the world. A huge scope of the game will force players to visit cities such as Venice, Damascus or Chan, each with their own unique art, architecture, food, customs and clothes.

MISTS Beond the Mountains offers a free study of the huge world, as well as epic battles based on the Active Time Battle system (similar to other classic role -playing games such as Final Fantasy VII or Chrono Trigger).

It also has a unique craft system: players, of course, can collect ingredients to create a new equipment, but they can also use an object called spirits to merge enemies in battles, which, in turn, can be used on special altars for creating not only objects, but also monsters. The use of eastern or western altars leads to different results.
